This week, the international break means that we’re going to go almost two weeks before we get to sink our teeth into some more juicy club football. Until then, though, the clubs will probably still get most of the coverage right up until England kick off against Malta on Saturday and Slovenia on Tuesday.

That’s the way of the world these days: even though the England manager left his job in a tawdry scandal, and even though more accusations are levelled against more managers, the fact that the Manchester clubs failed to win and both North London clubs were there to take advantage with varying degrees of emphasis will take centre stage for the next few days.

What does that mean? Well, that means you’ll all be googling your favourite teams with familiar regularity – perhaps more given the international break is so boring – to find all the latest news and insight into your club.

Thankfully, website Digital-Football.com has looked into Google’s search keywords to find out who are the most googled clubs in the Premier League over the month of August. It’s not an exact science because the sample size is fairly small, but you’d imagine the general trend will be pretty similar throughout the rest of the year!

So where does your club rank? And if it ranks lowly, will you spend the next two weeks searching your club to boost their numbers? Here’s the countdown!

20. Hull City

With a paltry 13,400 searches in August, Hull City are bottom of the pile.

19. West Bromwich Albion

Coming in second bottom – but much higher than Hull, it’s West Brom with 93,120 searches.

18. AFC Bournemouth

Next up is hardly a surprise: even though Bournemouth charmed us with their play last season, the Cherries are still one of the smallest clubs in the league and were searched 101,880 times in August.

17. Sunderland

Sunderland are number 17. Despite being a club with a huge history – one of the few clubs who can boast a title, the Black Cats were searched for only 102,600 times in August.

16. Watford

They may be a London club (sort of) but Watford’s don’t seem to have too many in the capital searching for them, just 110,000 in August.

15. Burnley

At number 15 is newly-promoted Burnley: 110,000 were recorded for them in August.

14. Stoke

Coming in at 14, it’s Stoke City, who might just take 14th place in the table right now if it were offered…. They were searched for 133,800 times in August.

13. Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough are next, with 135,000 searches for the North East club in August.

12. West Ham

With their move into the London Stadium over the last few months, West Ham United might have expected a bigger interest in those searching for their club – just 151,000 in August.

11. Swansea

Above West Ham, strangely, is Swansea City – it’s strange given the catchment area as you’d expect London clubs to do a little better, but Swansea got 153,100 in August.

10. Southampton

Southampton are the last club in the top half of the Google search table with 165,000 searches in August.

9. Tottenham

Next up is Tottenham Hotspur, the first club in our countdown to break 200,000 searches, amassing 225,500 in August.

8. Crystal Palace

There’s a big jump to the number eight on our list as Crystal Palace come in eighth with a creditable 300,000 searches – maybe down to a few late pieces of transfer activity?

7. Leicester City

Seventh in the list come the champions Leicester City with a big 648,700 searches over the month of August.

6. Everton

Another big jump to on next team on the list – Everton were searched for 817,900 times.

5. Manchester City

Just ahead of them, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City landed 838,000 searches in August.

4. Chelsea

There’s another big jump to Chelsea who amassed a huge 1,124,000 searches.

3. Liverpool

Just behind are Liverpool, whose popularity is still massive with a giant 1,301,000 searches in August.

2. Arsenal

Second on the list are London’s most-searched club, Arsenal with 2,927,200 searches in August.

1. Manchester United

Coming in at the top is perhaps the least surprising placement on the list. Manchester United were searched for 3,424,000 time in August – the Paul Pogba announcement may have helped, but United are box office even without him!
